Remember. we are at this point because we only got seven Republican votes in the prior vote. Now we have worked together. I was told there were a lot of people on the Republican side. if they had the opportunity to have more amendments. would vote with us. I am confident that will happen. This has worked out extremely well. I would say. our work on comprehensive immigration reform has been pretty significant. Due to the man to my right. and Senator LEAHY. who is not here. and Senator KENNEDY. we have had 36 hearings on immigration since 9/ 11. That is a lot of hearings. We have had 6 full days of committee action.
