The effect will be to continue the erosion of confidence by the American people in Congress. and in the Government overall. which is at an all time low. virtually. I am not sure since I have been in the Senate. we have such a large number of people who believe this country is on the wrong track. I have to believe. and experts have told me. that their distrust and dissatisfaction over immigration is a big part of the way. the cause of this cynicism. Let me take some points here. one by one. Will this grand bargain we are presented with create an honest. legal. fair system for the future?
