We are the worlds most free nation and are having one of the strongest periods of economic growthmaybe our strongest ever. Billions of people all over the world. however. are in poverty and live in countries that are corrupt and backward. One expert has said that all would live a better life if they came to the United States. I think that is a true fact. We are indeed a nation of immigrants. and that heritage has caused us to continue one of the most generous legal immigration systems of any nation in the world. I submit. however. that immigration policy is an issue of national sovereignty. as Canada. Mexico. Spain.
