Session #110 · 2007–09

Speech #1100057015

He said that there are over forty million American jobs that are tradeable. which means subject to being moved offshore in search of lower wages. He said not all of them will go. They wont. But even those that remain here are going to have downward pressure on their wages because they are competing with others in other parts of the world who are willing to work for less. My point is simple. This immigration issue and guest worker issue is the reverse side of the same coin: the outmigration of American jobs and the inmigration of cheap labor. This is about money. It is about profits for big economic interests.
