It seems to me that arguing over whether something is amnesty or isnt amnesty is a deadend argument. The question is. What would you like to see done so it isnt what you dont like? I argue this: If merely allowing the illegal immigrants to stay here is amnesty. which is what a lot of my constituents have said they believe. then the status quo is amnesty because we are letting them stay here and we are not doing anything about it. So if your definition is the mere fact you allow them to stay here is amnesty. then I say. fine. you. too. are for amnesty. I am just trying to do something about it.
