Session #110 · 2007–09

Speech #1100052918

Because we are told we can have an almost inexhaustible supply of cheap labor coming into this country. Even if this bill were not on the floor. we bring in 1.2 million people per year under the legal process by which people come to this country. So it is not as if there is not going to be immigration. On top of that. there will be well over a million people coming in for agricultural jobs without this bill. But this bill says that is not enough. that we need additional workers to come in because we need more of those workers. particularly unskilled workers. at the bottom.
