Speech #1100052894

Thomas Edison. and Antonin Scalia. whose parents came to this country and therefore gave them the opportunity to be born in America. they would not have made it under this bill. Family values. Those who did not have the good fortune to be born here. but because their parents immigrated here. were naturalized U.S. citizens. They have contributed greatly. So lets not dehumanize this reality. This isnt about "chain migration." This isnt about some abstract sense of how we try to change a very important conceptfamily. family values. reunification. strengthening communities. and having great Americans who have altered the course of history and made this country the greatest experiment and country in the history of the world. Our amendment simply says to all those who have espoused family values. it is time to put your vote with your values. It says dont snuff out the right of a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident. these guys in this picturedont snuff out their right. all permanent residents of the U.S. originally. dont snuff out their rights to be able to claim family members.
