Session #110 · 2007–09

Speech #1100050241

Mr. Chairman. I move to strike the last word. Certainly the distinguished chairman would want to make sure that anybody that got any of the funds from this housing fund would want to make sure that they are United States citizens. We would never want to deprive a United States citizen the ability to get homeownership at the expense of someone who is here in this country illegally. And someone was talking about this as being an immigration bill. Immigration is about a legal process. We are talking about someone who has committed an illegal process. Mr. Chairman. 1 yield to the gentleman from Georgia .
