I believe he will probably be the only Turkish American to serve on the Federal judiciary anywhere in America. We didnt select him because of that. but it is a fact. He has an outstanding record. and he will be an outstanding member of the judiciary. Long before I knew this young man. I met his father. Sul is the son of a Gulfport. MS. doctor. psychiatrist. a Turkish immigrant. and naturalized U.S. citizen. He was truly a well respected citizen in the community as well as a doctor. I met him back when I was in the House of Representatives. years ago. in the 1970s. as a matter of fact.
