That is why I am introducing this legislation today. The "Unaccompanied Alien Child Protection Act" will help our country fulfill the special obligation to these children to treat them fairly and humanely. I am proud to have the support of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. the Womens Commission on Refugee Women and Children. the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. Heartland Alliance. Amnesty International USA and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. and many other organizations with whom I have worked closely to develop this legislation. I urge my colleagues to join with me by cosponsoring this important measure and ensuring that these reforms are finally enacted.
