Session #110 · 2007–09

Speech #1100021117

They may not be in uniforms. and they may not be marching in orderly ranks. and they may not be all of them armed. but they are carrying with them $65 billion worth of Illegal drugs coming into the United States. $65 billion. And we are spending $8 billion a year on our southern border. And out of that $8 billion. that is $4 million a mile. and we are getting some kind of efficiency rating of our dollars of maybe 25 percent of enforcement. and often I hear a 10 percent number from the Border Patrol people that are down there. So what is the price to America? $65 billion worth of illegal drugs that comes out of the pockets of Americans. And the price in lives?
