It was their job to do it. Actually one of them was actually promoted after all of this. But the U.S. attorney decided to prosecute the Border Patrol agents. and in doing so. he had to intimidate these supervisors by saying that he was going to charge them and giving them immunity unless they went along with this legal lynching of Ramos and Compean. If this incident would have been kept in perspective. all seven supervisors and agents who were failing to report a shooting that may or may not have been consistent with regulations governing the discharge of weapons. but just keep this all in perspective. they might have deserved a disciplinary action. maybe a week without pay or some mark on their record. that would have been the end of it. But the penalty for not reporting a shooting is a 5day suspension.
