The Framers knew we would have to make tough decisions. Thats why they didnt want Senators to be elected by popular vote. The system they devised had its own problems. so we changed it. But the principle was sound: the right decision is not always the easiest one. We have an obligation to address the important issues of the lay. in a spirit of cooperation and courage. and with a goal of accomplishment for all Americans. Immigration is one the most pressing issues of our day. We should be daring about immigration reformand act on it soon. The voters demand it. We have a duty to deliver.
