Mr. Speaker. I rise today to congratulate Mrs. Jelka Jankovic on her 100th birthday. which she celebrated on November 25. 2006. Since her immigration to the United States over fifty years ago. Mrs. Jankovic has been a model citizen. contributing to her community and bringing joy to the lives of family members and friends. Mrs. Jankovic married Janko N. Jankovic. a lawyer. on October 4. 1925 in Serbia. Their son. Miodrag. was born in 1926. For the first part of her married life. Mrs. Jankovic concentrated on raising her son and running her household. In 1942 her son joined the army to fight the Germans and later the Communists.
