I also applaud the inclusion of an extension of the Rehired Authority. Without the renewal of this authority. FLETC would not have been able to schedule the full training requirements at Glynco and Artesia to meet the Initiative for Border Patrol at Artesia. and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Detention Officer Training at Glynco. FLETC has demonstrated the need for the authority to be continued. There were many strong reasons to justify this needed authority. but perhaps the most compelling is that by using annuitants FLETC can save dollars versus hiringpermanent fulltime employees.
