I want to respond to the chairman by saying I appreciate his recognition of our Customs border protection officers and their need of being able to be a part of something good and something in protecting America. I think that it is important that not only on the minority side but on the majority side we make a commitment to these very fine men and women. They put their lives on the line every day serving our country. These are individuals that are conducting inspections of people. vehicles. and cargo.
