I thank the chairman for yielding. and I certainly thank him for his leadership on a variety of issues to help strengthen our border. Mr. Speaker. I rise in strong support of H.R. 6095. But before I address the specific provisions of this legislation. I think it is important to put this bill in the larger context because. Mr. Speaker. we are having a debate that has been ongoing for a number of months in this body. and. Mr. Speaker. there are many of us who believe that border security is national security. We ignore our borders at our own peril. Iraqis have been caught trying to infiltrate our southern border.
