Some of us support fencing those borders. We do have a philosophical disagreement over a massive amnesty. Some of us believe that massive amnesty in 1986 made the situation worse. That is why we dont want to go forward with another amnesty of that type. Let me say I did chair the hearings in San Diego and in Texas. I toured that southern border with local law enforcement and immigration officials. I heard their arguments in favor of putting up that border fence and their arguments about doing something about these tunnels. This was a tunnel that was six ballfields long. I went through this tunnel.
