Maybe my colleagues dont realize that there was fencing language in the Senate bill. That means when you go to conference. you can expand that language if that was the desire. Now. I know many of my friends on the other side of the aisle will talk about the immigration hearings that they attended. and I would venture to say that at many of them I met them because I had the responsibility and privilege of attending at least onethird to onehalf of them. And those hearings were redundant testimonies by people that had already been to Washington. They drove a wedge in whatever community we went to with protesters on both sides.
