Anyone can come to the conclusion that the idea of boring a tunnel between our two countries is just plain wrong. And so I believe that we have done the right thing. We have recognized that border security is national security. And while there is no evidence whatsoever of a Mexican terrorist. the threat of someone utilizing one of those tunnels to pose a terrorist threat to the United States is still there. and I believe that we need to do everything that we can to make sure that we secure it. Madam Speaker. since September 11 of 2001. 38 tunnels have been discovered between the United States and Mexico and Canada and Mexico.
