I will take time. as we are heading up to the hour to vote. to share a few additional thoughts. The only way we are going to get an authorization of the fencing is to pass this amendment. The authorization for border barriers I offered as an amendment. which was adopted as part of the comprehensive socalled immigration bill. will not become law because that bill will not become law. This is the way we have now to do it. The House has passed a bill that is thoughtful. that makes sure we are not playing a shell game with the American voters but that we actually create a mechanism to ensure that the fencing gets built on a timetable.
