I thank the gentleman for yielding me time. Mr. Speaker. let me say this as simply as I possibly can: The American people are fed up with our porous borders and illegal immigration. If you had the conversations that I had with constituents over the August recess. then you all know how the American people feel about the problems at our southern border with illegal immigration. I had an opportunity in July to travel to the southern border with Speaker HASTERT and Chairman KING. and I saw the situation firsthand. I saw some of the fencing being built in Yuma. by the Kentucky National Guard actually. who was there at that time.
