The Government of Sudan has launched an all but military offensive in Darfur that could result in hundreds of thousands of deaths. The United States must lead the international community to save those lives. It is urgent that we act. Over the past 2 years the situation in Sudan has remained dire. As many as 400.000 people have died. Two million people have been displaced from their homes. over 200.000 are refugees in Chad. and 3 million rely on international aid. Those numbers havent diminished over time. they have gotten worse. And now. they may be on the brink of becoming even more catastrophic.
