We want to get away from that. We want to send a message to the world that this border is no longer open. that if you attempt to cross our border illegally. you are not going to succeed. You need to apply and wait in line to come legally. We are generous about how many people we allow now and how many people we will allow in the future. We are a very generous nation with regard to immigration. We will remain so. But we want people to make their application and wait in line. not to pour across the border.
