Speech #1090159563

I thank the gentleman. And in fact I will describe it. But before I do. I just want to say one thing. You know. you talked about your growing up in rural Arkansas. I grew up in rural California. My grandparents were all Portuguese immigrants. They all naturalized. became legal citizens. proudest day of their lives was when they got their citizenship papers. And they imbued in me and my parents. who couldnt speak English when they were growing up. a sense of duty and responsibility. And you did the right thing. I will never forget my grandmother. she wasnt so excited when I got into politics because she said. you know.
