I think it was troubling to metroubling to a lot of Americans. I know troubling to Senator COBURN. the Presiding Officerwhen Senator ISAKSONS amendment did not pass. Why? Why did Senator ISAKSONs amendment not pass? Well. the American people are pretty cynical now about our commitment and our integrity when it comes to matters involving immigration. And I suggested at the time and worried at the time that the reason the Isakson amendment did not pass was there was never any intention to fund the fence. to fund increased bed space. and fund the increased agents. make the USVISIT program worknever any intention. Now. wouldnt that be a bad thing?
