His wife was educated at the University of Texas in El Paso. To bring them in from Canada. he did it legally. and it took 18 months. the woman never even had a parking ticket. So there are honest. hardworking people that are doing it the right way. and those are the immigrants that we reference when we say: We are a nation of immigrants. That is right. we are a nation of immigrants that came here legally and came here to be Americans and to be part of America and to contribute to America and to learn to be part of our society. They didnt come in to live in the shadows of our Nation. Thats the kind of immigrants we need to encourage. But our system now is so overwhelming that it is 50to1 illegaltolegal people coming into this country today. Some of the other interesting things that the bill will do. the amnesty part of the bill that the Senate has passed. as a result of the amnesty provisions they have created. over 60 million new immigrants will be allowed in this country over the next 20 years. Do we need 60 million new people? I dont know. but it is an overwhelming number.
