Maybe they are a valuable employee to an important business that is in the community. They sent their roots down. Now. they are law breakers. Whether they overstayed their visa or whether they jumped the border illegally. they broke the law. So then the argument is it isnt amnesty if you just say to them we think you are a pretty good citizen. other than the fact that you broke the law. We would like to just give you amnesty. but in order to avoid this argument. because we know Americans reject the idea and the concept and the real definition of amnesty. we are going to redefine it.
