We would ignore this at our own peril. And I mentioned the hearing that we held in San Diego. Chairman ROYCE did a terrific job chairing this hearing for the International Relations Committee. focused on terrorism and border security. And I commend our leadership. our Speaker and our leader for making certain that we. as a body. have the opportunity to go and listen and talk with the American people on this issue. And as we were at Imperial Beach outside of San Diego on that border. we heard from sheriffs. we heard from border agents. and we heard from those who have studied this issue closely. very closely over the past several years. just not weeks. not just months. but several years.
