As my colleagues are well aware. we are facing a science education crisis in the United States. Within the next five years. some 70 percent of current advanced math and science teachers will be able to retire. More and more of the science and math students in our top universities are immigrants. with fewer and fewer students from our nations public schools each year. Independent analysis shows that teachers who have the opportunity to attend the JASON seminars are much better prepared to lead their students into an understanding of science and math. and to get their kids enthusiastic about making a career out of these subjects. These seminars are highly recommended by the National Science Teachers Association.
