Colombia will still receive more than what the President of the United States of America asked for in fiscal year 2007. But we can send a powerful message to the Colombian Armed Forces that we wont keep writing blank checks. we wont keep turning a blind eye. we arent a cheap date you can take advantage of. Mr. Chairman. we have the opportunity to do some real good with this amendment. We can fund the Presidents request for U.S. Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance fund. The fund currently stands at its lowest balance In over a decade. The State Department generally draws down between $60 million and $70 million In ERMA funds each year.
