What this amendment does is unravel over 5 months of committee oversight. We have held 11 hearings this year. digging deep into the resource requirements of the Department and examining the most ominous threats facing the Nation. Almost without exception. all of the programs funded in this bill are critical. But what we cant afford to do is fund one program at the expense of all others. This bill provides significant border security resources. administers tough oversight. drives DHS to properly plan its work and improve our border security and immigration enforcement programs. I would hope that we would turn down this amendment.
