They say it is a temporary guest worker program. but it is not. The bill does not have temporary guest workers. People come into this country. and they ask for a green card as soon as they get here. We vastly increased the number of green cards that can be issued. And everyone comes in under the rubric. the big print in the bill that says "temporary guest worker" and will be able to file for a green card through their employer the first day they get here. Soon they will get that green card unless they get in some sort of trouble. and that entitles them to legal. permanent residence. Within 5 years of that. they can become a citizen. This idea that it is a temporary guest worker program is as phony as a threedollar bill.
