Session #109 · 2005–07

Speech #1090136284

Mr. President. I congratulate Senator GRASSLEY and all who worked on this amendment. This is probably the single most important thing we can do in terms of reducing the inflow of undocumented workersmaking sure we can actually enforce in a systematic way rules governing who gets hired. It is an amendment that has bipartisan support. as Senator GRASSLEY indicated. It will increase fines. It will provide for an electronic data system that is effective. I urge all colleagues on my side of the aisle to vote for the amendment.
