Professor Siciliano. Professor Chiswick. and others whose names escape meand talked about this quite openly. These are the fundamental facts that should be part of any thoughtful. comprehensive reform of immigration in America. The facts are these: People with college credit. people with a college degree uniformly contribute more to this country in taxes than they take out in benefits. The people who come to our country with less than a high school education. a high school dropout or somebody who just didnt have the opportunity. they dont have a high school degreeand over 50 percent of illegal immigrants entering our country today are without a high school degreethose people. it is uniformly agreed by professional economists who studied this issue. most of whom testified at our committee. strongly favor immigration but they all agree they will on averagenot every single one but on averagedraw more from the U.S. Treasury and U.S. coffers than they put in. Does that tell us anything?
