Just to respond to a couple of things the Senator from Massachusetts talked about. that section 614 and a provision in section 601 in this legislation on page 395 would ensure that aliens who received legal status. amnesty. whatever you want to call it. cannot be prosecuted for document fraud. He said they werent receiving amnesty. If there was a felony they were committing. and now they cant be prosecuted. that sounds like amnesty to me. A couple other points he brought up: Legal aliens who were here and who overstayed their visas have a legal Social Security number. They are paying into the system with a legal Social Security number. Even though they are here illegally. they would still be able to collect benefits.
