And when it is explained to the American people what we are requiring: A criminal background check. payment of back taxes. payment of a $2.000 fine. 5 or 6 years before getting in line behind everyone else in order to get a green card and then another 5 years or more. depending on how this legislation comes out. before eligibility for citizenship. it is a perversion of the word "amnesty."
