And from a good neighbor standpoint. it is not good to have this ugly fencing. We would like something that looks good and does the job. What the amendment in the underlying bill does. and it is the same thing in Senator SESSIONs amendment. it says we are going to replace that landing mat fencing with the kind of fencing the Border Patrol believes would be more effective. That is part of the reason for the 370 miles of fencing. The Senator from Massachusetts derided the amendment as suggesting that it was not just for the urban areas because. after all. 370 miles of fencing is a lot of fencing.
