The situation which exists in this country is that we put together. recognizing there was an immigration problem. a bill 20 years ago in the CongressI wasnt serving in the Senate at the time. I was in the House. It was a bill called SimpsonMazzoli. It was named after Senator Simpson and Congressman Mazzoli. It was said at the time that the way to deal with illegal immigration is to shut off the jobs because people aspire to come here illegally to take a job. They see this job as hope and promise for the future. I have pointed out many times about a helicopter I was on that ran out of gas at one point.
