We are talking about two vastly different thingsprotecting the bordersand using the military in law enforcement. This new war includes a host of fronts. including law entorcement for domestic interests related to terrorists who try to cross our borders. Ive led efforts for more border security: our investment should be in Border Patrol officers and detention beds to hold the OTMsOther Than Mexicanswe now routinely release into the general population. Even if we caught every single illegal immigrant crossing our border. we would still have no place to hold them. and we would be forced to release themas we are doing now. We should be focused on the need for professional law enforcement officers/intelligence associated with knowing who is coming across our borders . . . and providing funds to hold them.
