Fiftyeight percent of Mexicans believe they have a right to come to the United States. Mr. Speaker. they are utterly wrong. but we need to convey that message to them so that they can understand that the United States needs to be committed to enforcing our borders. The incidents that happened down there illustrate what I saw. First. the argument. as I asked the officers. retired Border Patrol or current officers who were at the point of retiring or quitting and giving up. those were the kind of people that would talk to me. They were the people that would open up to me. One of them was an officer at a station.
