Speaker. then we are not doing a very good job of conveying our sovereignty. We have become a Nation without a southern border. An average of 11.000 people a day pour across our southern border. and our border patrol manages to stop perhaps a fourth of them. maybe on a good day as many as a third of them. but they reported for 2004 that they stopped on our southern border 1.159.000. For 2005. that number comes out to somewhere in the area of this statistical extrapolation of 1.188.000. Now. most of them were told to go back home. go to their home country.
