The legislation before us today instructs the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to create maritime security centers. These centers will bring together the Coast Guard. Customs. and Border Patrol and. in many cases. the Navy. National Guard. and State and local law enforcement. These centers integrate the technologies and personnel of these agencies into one system. This amendment directs the Secretary to consult with Federal.
