It probably keeps their costs low. But I will tell you what else it does: It pulls the rug out from American workers in a way that is very unfair. Having said all of that. it is not my intention to suggest that we dont have to deal with immigration issues. We do. I understand that. It is not my intention to suggest that anybody can round up or should even seriously consider rounding up 11 million people and deporting them. That is not going to happen. I was in the Congress when the SimpsonMazzoli bill was passed dealing with immigration. It was going to fix immigration. Immigration problems have become much worse. This proposal. the SimpsonMazzoli proposal. was described as a proposal that would say that the attractionthe magnetfor immigrants coming into this country is a job. Take away the job. you take away the attraction or the magnet. How do you take away the job?
