With 12 million people. it cant be done. But by branding them as criminals at the outset. it is a guarantee they will never come out of the shadows. They will stay lurking as part of our culture. part of our economy in illegal status indefinitely. Criminalizing them is not the answer. Sadly. the bill goes even further. In the instance of undocumented people amongst us. it would subject them to a misdemeanor subject to 6 months in jail. but it goes much further for the Good Samaritans who assist them. That is the most outrageous element of the Frist bill. It is harsh.
