Mr. President. first let me commend Senator DURBIN for his leadership on the Dream Act and making sure that it is now a part of the bill that came out of the Judiciary Committee. I was a cosponsor of that Dream Act. and I support it being a part of the bill. For me. the current debate on immigration strikes very close to home. Those words at the base of the Statue of Liberty. "Give me your tired. your poor. your huddled masses. yearning to breathe free." have a profound personal meaning to me. On my wall in my office.
