This Congress is telling us. as this small chart shows. this Congress is telling the country we can afford to spend $64 billion this year to provide tax cuts to people who make $1 million or more a year. They are telling the country we can afford to spend more money on tax cuts for millionaires than we spend on the entire Homeland Security budget. Now. does anybody really think that this country is in greater need of providing $64 billion in tax cuts to people who make a million bucks a year? Do we really think that we need to do that more than we need to shore up port security. border security and the like? With all due respect. I do not think that is very good judgment with respect to our priorities.
