Really oftentimes I talk about the glass ceiling because there are still so many opportunities denied to women in the upper echelons of our workforce. but many women are just struggling to get up off the floor because they are working minimumwage jobs and trying to raise kids. They are the heads of households. They face all of these challenges. And one of the best ways for women to get ahead. and this is something my immigrant parents really instilled in all of my brothers and sisters. I come from a family of seven. they said education is the key to opportunity in this country. you need to go to college. When they told me this. it was a pretty radical notion for a traditional Latino family to say not just the boys need to go to college. but the girls also should go to college.
