I can relate to the story of Judge Alitos father because my own father was strongly influenced by his high school principal and a history teacher to stay in school rather than take a laborers job. With the strong encouragement from these two individuals. my father completed high school and attended Carnegie Tech on a Krogers Scholarship. Such stories are familiar to many descendants of immigrants and they show that the American Dream is still alive and well. During my meeting with Judge Alito. he displayed a gracious manner and humble attitude. He is clearly very smart and engaging. and it was a pleasure to hear him explain his view of the 152.
