Session #109 · 2005–07

Speech #1090102646

We need it so a lot of farmers will have the resources they need to get back to work and back to farming this next year. What is also missing is this: At least 300.000 innocent people have died in the genocide in Sudan. The number may be 400.000. Nobody knows for sure. Two million people have been driven from their homes and 500 people die every day in refugee camps. We missed an important opportunity to stop or slow down that genocide in this conference report. We refused to help the work of the African Union Mission in Sudan in this bill.
